We are thrilled to share the achievements of our learners, earned at a recently held Interschool Manache Shloka Competition. The participants showcased their talents by singing or reciting traditional shlokas, which are typically composed in the ancient language of Sanskrit. Shlokas are beautifully structured verses that convey profound philosophical and spiritual teachings. Each type of shloka carries a well-defined message, encapsulating complex thoughts in a poetic form, making them not only meaningful but also easier to remember and recite.
In other news at SVM, learners Mst. Harshal Sawant and Mst. Siddhant Suryagandha, who participated in the district-level swimming competition, both returned victorious. Siddhant secured a bronze medal in the 200 meters event, while Harshal clinched the gold in the 400 meters dash. Harshal's outstanding performance has earned him a spot in the upcoming zonal competition, scheduled to take place in a few days time.
SVM proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of Ms. Gauri Vilankar, who has clinched the gold medal at the prestigious CBSE Nationals Taekwondo Championship. A Grade 9 student at SVM, Gauri’s unwavering dedication to the sport continues to earn her well-deserved accolades. Among the many medals she has won so far, this victory holds a special place, marking a new high in her Taekwondo journey. We congratulate Gauri on her achievement and extend our wishes to her family, coaches and supporters, so also do we look forward to witnessing many more triumphs on her path to greatness.
The Tata brand is a household name, known to everyone in the country and in many other lands abroad. The Tata Building-India project is an initiative from the brand that encourages young minds to share their vision for the future. It is a platform for new ideas to come to light and for the visionaries of these ideas to be recognized; so much so that this competition culminates with the winners being felicitated and thereafter sharing conversation and dining with the country's President. Cited here are the learners of SVM whose essays have been shortlisted and sent on for further scrutiny.
At Sarvanksh Vidya Mandir, we believe in the motto of BE MORE by fostering an inclusive and enriching environment for our learners and staff. In line with our commitment to holistic wellness and life skills integration, we are proud to share that our learners, Chinmayi Mayekar and Devansh Deolekar Wadkar from Grade 10, have successfully participated in the CBSE's ‘Adolescent Peer Educators Leadership Programme’. This initiative by CBSE aims to empower young educators as the participatory citizens of tomorrow, capable of creating inclusive school environments. Our Principal, Ms. Monica, felicitated our Well-being Ambassadors with certificates and badges recognizing their dedication and enthusiasm. We are confident that Chinmayi and Devansh will continue to inculcate the importance of life skills, fostering a more reflective and thoughtful environment in our school. Congratulations to our Well-being Ambassadors! Together, we strive

"Cleanliness is next to Godliness," but at SVM it is a part of the School's DNA. The dedicated support staff along with each and every staff member and the learners have consciously inculcated cleanliness as a daily habit, how could we possibly not win the prestigious Mukhyamantri Maazhi Shala Sunder Shala Award 2024? We are happy to share that after a rigorous selection process and audits by the Education Department we have won the first position in the private school category in the district of Ratnagiri. The first position carries with it a cash prize of Rupees Three lakhs; once again, a proud moment for us SVM'ites.

Encouraged by our facilitators, many a SVM'ite submitted entries to the first of CBSE's Expression Series for the academic year 2024-24. The entries consisted of art-work, essays and poems. Furthermore, CBSE specified four grade-wise categories from which, the allowance was only one entry per category. After having sent the one and only entry, we at SVM decided to felicitate the ones that came close but didn't make it to the board, however certainly caught our attention. Here are those learners being recognized for their work in our morning assembly.

It was the taluka level Taekwondo contest and we had SVM being represented in three age categories and as fate would have it, SVM bagged the top ranking in all three categories. Of the two Vilankar siblings, the younger Gauri (U-17) is already the reigning state champ, while the older Shreshta (U-19) has made a come back after a hiatus of two years. Meanwhile, Aaradhya Sawant of Gr. 7 made his case clear in the U-14 category. The next rounds which is the district-level clash will be held later in this month itself. We appeal to our SVM family to support the aforementioned trio by encouraging them as they move ahead to the upcoming competition.

We pause here to highlight the laurels achieved by the learners of SVM in the past week. Ms. Aarya Karkare of Gr. 8 has progressed to the zonal level of the Chess competition, trouncing over a dozen opponents at the taluka and district levels respectively. On the Taekwondo front, sisters Shreshtha (Gr. 11) and Gauri Vilankar (Gr. 9) too have advanced to the zonals in their respective weight classes; Mst. Aaradhya Sawant of Gr. 7 is also in the fray in his respective category. We wish all four learners the very best going forward as the competition gets fiercer now.

In a recent hail of medals, learners Mst. Siddhant Suryagandha (gold), Ms. Zunera Kazi (silver) and Mst. Saad Kazi (bronze) of Grades 7, 6 and 10 respectively have done us proud in a sport that is now reaching its peak - shooting. Through their own grit and determination, the aforementioned learners of SVM are practising, making progress, and have subsequently participated and reaped rewards in their respective shooting events. Their efforts in the inter-school, district-level face-off at Dervan qualifies them for the upcoming zonals. Adding to these achievements, we have our taekwondo champ and golden girl, Ms. Gauri Vilankar of Gr. 8 who once again has bagged the top spot (gold) at the CBSE zonals and is now all set for the Nationals scheduled to be held in Uttarakhand. We wish the learners and their families who have taken much initiative to see their wards through, congratulations to each and every one of you and all the very best for the next level of competition.

SVM's Gauri Vilankar has done it again, this time, by clinching the gold in the U-59kg weight class at the State level Taekwondo competition. Trained to stop at nothing and by sheer determination, Gauri keeps pushing her boundaries to become stronger in her choice of martial arts and sport. Here's cheering her indomitable spirit and competitive attitude in the arena, despite being a quiet and reserved girl while off it.

A tigress on the taekwondo fight mat, Ms. Gauri Vilankar of Gr. 8 is otherwise a paragon of rectitude in class. Reserved by nature, she is soft-spoken and not easily swayed. SVM is no stranger to her achievements and the latest in line is her selection to represent the cadet girls at the "Khelo India Women's League". It is prestigious to be called on to the cadet girls team, just goes to show how accomplished an athlete Gauri is. Laurels are soon to be in order, we wish Gauri the very best in her endeavours at the League.

Just recently, we relayed a post about SVM’s Gauri Vilankar who was selected to represent the Cadet Girls of Maharahtra at the Khelo India Women’s League. In the latest news, we hear that Gauri has done her parents, coaches and us proud once again by bagging gold in the 55kg category and has thus qualified for the next phase of Khelo India to be held in Cuttack, Odisha. One may easily be fooled by Gauri’s introverted nature, but watch out, where words fail, those strong and determined taekwondo kicks come to the rescue. We believe that Gauri has the best support ever and is set to go a long way in the sport. Kudos to her die-hard spirit that makes her rise above the ordinary and deliver the goods every time. Our heartiest wishes to Gauri, her family, her coaches and all those that have a hand in bringing her this far.

A child’s potential can be better realized when he/ she takes part in contests both internal and external. At SVM, we not only encourage our children to participate but also facilitate the examinations conducted by the #Science Olympiad Foundation. The #Olympiads see learners from all over the land participating in the examinations and who are hopeful of receiving a ranking on the basis of zone, state and national level. This year, quite a few of our SVM’ites who appeared for the Olympiads earned themselves Gold medals of Excellence for their outstanding performance in the examinations. Here’s congratulating all our gold medal recipients and we wish them the best in their future endeavours.

While we encourage our learners to take up challenges and participate in in-house activities as well as external contests, our facilitators aren’t far behind in setting an example by taking the lead. We cite here, the recent achievement of one of our Art facilitators, Ms. Kamal Nitore who is an artiste extraordinaire besides being an accomplished wrestler. Yes, you heard that right, Ms. Kamal, whose powerful shoulders help bring down opponents in the wrestling ring, has the gentlest of hands when painting on the canvas. In a competition held by the Art Beats Foundation, Pune, Ms. Kamal bagged the first place with her portrait painting, winning the “Yuva Kala Gaurav Award”. We extend our heartiest wishes to her on this achievement and for all her future endeavours.

It wasn’t very long ago when two of SVM’s best brought back laurels from the Annual Coast Guard Quiz Competition. Continuing in the true spirit of sportsmanship, this time around we had another two of our learners, Mst. Anvesh Mathew and Mst. Chinmay Parkar who established themselves at the contest and came in a close second. Our heartiest congratulations to both Anvesh and Chinmay and their families on this achievement. Quizzes such as these are the little glories that amount to a lot as time goes on.

From the House of Navneet

It's 20 years down and Navneets All-India YOUVA MASTERSTROKE continues to grow stronger. This year as always, learners from all over participated, including some from our very own SVM. While every child is a winner in his/ her own right, the scrutinizers at Navneet shortlisted four entries from SVM and in doing so awarded gift hampers to Ms. Ira Shukla, Ms. Reevika Tripathi, Mst. Daksh Salvi and Mst. Shubham Chike. Our heartiest congratulations to the learners and their families too for raising and encouraging such talented artists.

SVMites have excelled once again, this time in the Cyber Olympiad organized by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF)!

Rudra Pilankar has won gold medal of excellence, showcasing his exceptional skills and passion in the field of computer science .

He has not only demonstrated his comprehension of complex digital systems but has also embraced the freedom to explore and safeguard the virtual world.

At SVM we encourage all our learners to continue exploring the captivating realm of cybersecurity, facing its challenges, and taking advantage of its opportunities.

We would like to convey our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated teachers and supportive parents who have played a vital role in guiding our students to achieve success in the Cyber Olympiad. Your unwavering support and collaborative efforts have been invaluable, and we truly appreciate your steadfast dedication to their achievements.

Nature is written in mathematical language- Galileo Galilei, Italian astronomer.

These students have exhibited exceptional proficiency and talent in mathematics, demonstrating their unwavering commitment, diligent efforts, and resilience in this demanding competition.

As Georg Cantor once said, “The essence of mathematics lies in its freedom.”

We extend our warm congratulations to our gold medal winners for their remarkable achievement and wish them every success in their future pursuits. We are sure that they will continue to demonstrate their ingenuity and academic brilliance, making us proud of their accomplishments.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents who have been an integral part of our students' success in the SOF English Olympiad. Your unwavering support and encouragement have been instrumental in helping our students achieve their goals. Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education and for being such valuable partners in their learning journey.

CBSE has always promoted holistic wellness and the integration of life skills in day-to-day education. To train young minds and give them a voice CBSE has organized, ‘The Adolescent Peer Educators Leadership Programme’ as CBSE believes that young educators are the empowering citizens of tomorrow and they can play a participatory role in creating an inclusive environment in schools.

Sarvanksh Vidya Mandir has always believed in the motto of BE MORE by providing an inclusive and enriching context and framework for learners and the staff where problems are solved efficiently and relationships are managed effectively.

Yasha Amol Pawar and Mohammed Shaaz Mohsin Wadkar from Grade 10 attended the enriching and interactive training sessions.

Principal Ma’am, Ms Monica felicitated the Well-being Ambassadors with certificates.

We are confident that the Well-being Ambassadors will continue to inculcate the importance of life skills in young minds and help in the creation of a more reflective and thoughtful environment.

The recent past saw India celebrate 75 years of Independence, aptly titled by the Ministry Of Culture as "Azadi Ka AmritMahotsav". In keeping with the same, CBSE rolled out a number of various activities and contests during the period of the pandemic which was obviously online, given the nature of things; the era of Covid-19. One such contest pertained to an original composition/ song, the subject of which was "Desh-bhakti". SVM's entry came in the form of a straight-from-the heart song written in a poetic style and delivered in the genre of RAP. The author of this tribute to the #Motherland was none other than Mst. Jai Jain who at that time was in Grade 7. Jai is persistent by nature and has an unfettered outlook towards life. This attitude makes him who he is, a strong individual who follows his heart and runs after his dreams. The song written by Jai secured the second position at the district level, earning him a monetary award from the Ministry of Culture. We extend our heartiest wishes to Jai on his achievement and hope that he keeps upping his game and continues to shine, always.

With the advent of the dotcom revolution, the world entered a whole new era. Written records became a thing of the past and many important facilities were computerized. Soon enough, computer education became an integral part of education and today, it is an inseparable portion of the academic curriculum. AT SVM, computer education (ICT) begins at the grass-root level right from Grade 1 and continues until a child completes his/ her academic obligations. In a recently held #ICT contest conducted by Bartakke Institute of #IT in the premises of a nearby school (GGPS), as many as 90 learners from SVM participated; from which, the top 10 positions were proudly held by SVM'ites, namely (in random order) - Mst. Anvay Gogate, Mst. Rudra Pilankar, Mst. Kartik Dewal, Ms. Sejal Pednekar, Ms. Yasha Pawar, Mst. Aayush Borkar, Mst. Parth Sawant, Ms. Shravani Waingankar, Mst. Harsh Mayekar and Ms. Inshrah Kazi. Our heartiest congratulations to the learners that participated and their parents as well.

While we stress upon the holistic growth of children at SVM, we also ensure the well-being of our teaching and non-teaching staff; promoting our in-house talent comes naturally. Having said this, we shift the focus here to our Art facilitator Ms. Kamal, who along with being an amazing art professional is also a passionate wrestler. Over this past weekend Ms. Kamal participated in a district level contest, snatching the gold in the 62kg category and proudly donning the colours of SVM at the podium. She has thus qualified for the State-level competition scheduled later this year and will be competing for the title of Maharashtra Kesari (women's senior division). We wish our soft-spoken, iron-shouldered Kamal the very best going forward.

We are also proud to mention the laurels achieved by another SVM’ite, Ms. Gauri Vilankar of Gr. 8 in the field of Taekwondo. Participating in an open state contest held in Mumbai, Gauri trounced every opponent on her way to gold. Incidentally, Gauri has won many such contests within and out of Ratnagiri. Gauri’s quiet demeanour off the “fight-mat” is highly applaudable, in stark contrast of being an unbeatable force when she dons her “dobok”. Her strong-will and determination is heavily backed by the intervention of her parents who continue to fuel her interest via constant encouragement and support. We extend our wishes to Gauri and the Vilankar family for raising a soft-spoken fighter who is surely going places in times to come.

Apart from the more famous sports like cricket, football, hockey, track and field events, there are some amongst us whose interests are piqued by lesser marketed sporting options. As we say this, we are pointing towards “roller skating”. It gives us immense pleasure acknowledging the talents of a few SVM’ites who are avid roller skaters, in particular Mst. Viraj Koli of Gr. 4 who is currently basking in the glory of a gold medal, bagged at a District-level roller-skating competition. The most amazing part of Viraj’s victory is that he has struck gold in the U-11 category, while he is just 9 years of age. We wish that his skills ever grow and that his talent is recognized at the highest levels.

In a recent Art Contest held by the World Child Development Institute, of the entries sent in, three of our learners received awards for their presentations. These were, Mst. Mohd. Zain Mulla of Gr. 1, Ms. Veda Kale of Gr. 7 and Ms. Shreshtha Vilankar of Gr. 10. We believe that it is such laurels that encourage children to pursue their interests and further hone their abilities. We at SVM make sure to motivate our learners to participate in various activities/ events held at School and outside as well.

The boys football team only recently had their first taste of success and subsequent loss. Not ones to stay behind, the girls of SVM were determined to prove a point. And therefore when an opportunity came a-knocking they took it head-on. In a contest that happened at Ratnagiri’s Gogate college, SVM girl’s football team made it through the initial two rounds of the district football contest and into the semi-final where they were faced with defeat. However, their spirits weren’t defeated and they returned determined. The girls are only just realizing their talents for football, yet it wasn’t hard to notice the deftness of some of our players like Gauri, Geet, Anushree, Janhavi, Chinmayi and Mrunmayi with her ever faithful left foot. Here are the names of the squad that did us proud: Ms. Riddhi Khedekar, Ms. Shreshtha Vilankar, Ms. Mrunmayi Mayekar, Ms. Chinmayi Mayekar, Ms. Gauri Vilankar, Ms. Simrita Jain, Ms. Geet Gawankar, Ms. Neeva Shah, Ms. Prisha Indulkar, Ms. Aadya Lubri, Ms. Anushree Shivalkar, Ms. Ishita Tawade, Ms. Varada Hattikar, Ms. Janhavi Sane

In a recently held Elocution Competition at Navnirman School, Ratnagiri, we had four students from SVM taking part. The competition which is a tribute to Navnirman’s founder, the Late Ms. Mrunal Hegshetye, had contests both in #Marathi and in English. SVM’s Ms. Kirti Samant and Ms. Ishita Tawde both bagged the first and third prize respectively in the English Elocution event from amongst sixteen contenders. Ms. Riya Gore and Mst. Sharvil Shinde had to fight it off against forty-six contestants in the Marathi Elocution competition, and though they didn’t win, we applaud the courage and fervor they have shown competing in a large group. Our heartiest congratulations to the victors and participants at the aforementioned competition.

Sarvankash Vidya Mandir Ratnagiri bagged yet another accolade in the Principal’s Conclave ‘Mimamsa’ organised in Pune by Athos under the Agies of the Pune Chapter. SVM got recognition as school with Best Holistic Development Program for students. The conference had an attendance from more than 200 schools from the various regions of Maharashtra. The various panel discussions conducted in the conclave gave invaluable inputs from the experts in the field. We genuinely thank Athos Edusolutions for organising and hosting such a wonderful event and bringing all the eduexperts on one platform.

Held in distant #Dervan, at the local Krida Sankul, the boys U-17 football team of #SVM recently participated in India's oldest and long-standing football contests, the Subroto Mukherjee Football #Tournament. The postponing of the matches due to the incessant rains last week gave our boys an opportunity to train harder and finally on August 2, 2023 they had two back to back duels with T. P. Shetye Junior College, #Lanja followed by Abhyankar Kulkarni Junior College affiliated to Ratnagiri's Gogate College. The former was a battle of sorts with the decider coming in the form of a penalty shootout. A line of saves by our #goalkeeper, Mst. Rudra Todankar and a barrage of converts by Mst. Tanishq Jagushte, Mst. Yuvraj Mayekar and Mst. Rudra Pawaskar sealed the game in our favour. The second match however, proved to be a bone of contention for either side, going goal-less until a last minute conversion by Abhyankar Kulkarni Junior College, dashing our hopes to make it to the semis. On the bright side, our boys returned enlighted and slightly experienced, ready to put in further effort and represent SVM at other such tournaments. Here are the names of the members of our football #team of whom we are extremely proud.

Mst. Aryan Morye, Mst. Tanishq Jagushte, Mst. Rudra Pawaskar, Mst. Rudra Todankar, Mst. Rhugved Sawant, Mst. Jay Gundecha, Mst. Mahir Kedari, Mst. Yuvraj Mayekar, Mst. Anvay Gogate, Mst. Sudhanva Nivalkar, Mst. Chinmay Parkar, Mst. Neev Jain, Mst. Sharvil Shinde, Mst. Vihaan Waikul, Mst. Siddhant Marathe

SVM is projected to be a shuttler’s haven, with its impressive indoor facility for badminton it is inevitable that the production of fine badminton players is in the making. At the district championships this year, three of our shuttlers made it to the podium. Ms. Geet Gawankar and Mst. Sumedh Surve, both snatching gold in the U-13 class, while the dashing and outspoken Mst. Pratyush Pethe brought home silver in the U-11 class. Also worth mentioning are the names of Mst. Samar Salvi and Mst. Mohd. Anwar Solkar who made it to the semis before bowing out.

Only@SVM - Be More

It gives us immense pleasure to share that we have once again Sustained and Claimed First Rank in Ratnagiri’s Co-Ed schools as rated by Education World Ranking 22-23.

I would like to thank each of our stakeholders for their undaunted support and being the part of SVM Journey as we move forward to attain our vision and mission to ‘Be more’.

There is a saying in chess; "When you see a good move, look for a better one". This is to bring to light the exploits of one of SVM's chess champs, Ms. Aarya Karkare who recently won laurels for us at a district level chess tournament organized by Podar International School, Ratnagiri. Aarya participated in the U-12 category and went through four gruelling rounds on the way to the final where she bagged the 2nd place in the championship. She has not only made us proud but also stands as a figure of inspiration to her fellow mates at school. We extend our heartiest wishes to Aarya and her family on her achievement.

With his thumping victory in under 15 Chess tournament, SVM grade 8 learner Anvay Gogate clinched all eyeballs at Dervan. His clean sweep in the tournament is just the glimpse of a glorious sports avenues at SVM.

In a series of recent events, the ALLATRA International Public Movement organized a virtual round table on their YouTube channel called ALLATRA TV. For starters, AIPM is an association of millions of people world-over that use their talents and qualities for the benefit of society. The vision is to unite all nations in friendship on the basis of cultural, moral as well as spiritual values. AIPM strongly supports the implementation of natural human freedom and rights, the formation of an entirely new level of relations between nations based on good, selfless mutual help, and creative cooperation between different people across the planet. The forum consisted of one Ms. Olga Jeffay, a representative of AIPM, co-host Dr. Ms. Kusum Kanwar (Founder of AddsUpSkill, Dep. Pres. WEE CIMSME, Maharashtra) and four enterprising, young speakers representing the schools of Maharashtra.

Two of these speakers were our very own Ms. Kirti Samant and Ms. Pal Pathare of SVM, Ratnagiri, the other two being Masters Vyom & Ved Kanabar, both stalwart students in their own rights. The premise of the round table was about building a better tomorrow; the visions our four speakers have of a creative society. Each one of the orators shared their understanding of what and how a society needs to be if we are to fulfil what the prophets have dreamed of. Going by SVMs own, we were thrilled to hear them cite examples of Be More which incidentally is SVMs motto and the vision of our chairperson, Mr. Gadre. It gave us much joy and a sense of pride to listen in as both Kirti and Pal so confidently and creatively put their points through. There was a sense of conviction in the voices of all four speakers. Their genuine concern for, and faith in humanity was clearly visible. While the world reels under the pressures of extremities on all fronts, our speakers who represent the millions of children around the world may very well be on the verge of a renewed global awakening.

In the words of the famous blues guitarist B.B. "My Friend Ganesha" Ganesh Idol Art Competition, jointly organized by Art Circle and Aasmant Belevolens, was held online on 9th August,2020. More than fifty students from various schools in Ratnagiri participated in this competition. Sculptor Siddhesh Desai was the examiner for this competition. The corona outbreak made it a bit difficult to hold the competition this year, but the competition was held online against all odds with the help of Team Art Circle and art teachers from various schools. For this, the children had made an idol of Ganesh online and presented their work through Google Meet. Examiners then examined the idols and announced the winners. As the schools had not reopened this year it was a difficult task to hold the competition on such a large scale. However, the readiness shown by the children along with the technology, the enthusiasm and the valuable support given by all the art teachers made it happen.

Despite many difficulties this year, due to the full cooperation of the school principal, art teacher and parents, the children participated in this competition with great enthusiasm.

The following students from Sarvankash Vidya Mandir participated in this competition:

1. Maitreyi Bhurke - Grade VIII
